Help with this app
Search item names, notes, tags or locations. For a complete recoverable inventory, export a JSON backup, which includes photographs. CSV is a useful list, but does not replace the complete JSON backup. QR labels open local locations inside the app; scanning them requires the corresponding location to exist in that inventory.

Information on your device
WhereDidIPutIt? stores item names, notes, tags, storage locations, photographs and locally meaningful QR identifiers on your device. Search, image processing and backup creation run locally. Imported photographs are copied into app-controlled storage and normalised with source metadata removed.
QR labels contain a local location identifier, not a hosted website address. Scanning a label in this app searches your local inventory and does not send the code to a NoCloud server. A JSON backup contains your inventory and photographs, so keep exported backups somewhere you trust.
The core workflow works without an internet connection. We do not receive this content through the app and do not operate a cloud backend for it. WhereDidIPutIt? has no account registration, advertising, behavioural analytics, tracking SDK or subscription. We cannot access or restore your app content from a NoCloud server.
Permissions and sharing
Camera access is used for taking photographs and scanning QR labels. The system photo picker and file picker give access to photographs or backup files you select. The app does not require microphone, contacts, device location or notification access. Storage locations such as “Garage” are names you enter, not GPS readings. A selected photograph may belong to an external cloud photo library.
When you choose to share or export content, the operating system passes a copy to the destination you select. An email, messaging, file or cloud-storage service you choose has its own privacy practices. NoCloud does not receive that copy unless you deliberately send it to us, for example in a support email.
Storage and deletion
Delete items and empty locations using the app’s controls; the immediate Undo action can reverse a deletion. Saving an item removes photographs no longer referenced by the inventory. Keep a JSON backup before uninstalling or changing devices. CSV exports cannot restore the full inventory.
Removing the app or losing your device can remove your only copy. Device backups and transfers are controlled by your operating system and settings; do not rely on them as a guaranteed way to restore app data. We do not provide cloud backup or recovery. Deleting app content does not remove originals in your photo library, exports or copies held by other services. Deletion is not a promise of forensic secure erasure.
Temporary sharing copies can remain while a receiving app reads them. On a later app launch or share, the app cleans up supported share-cache files older than one day. Cleanup does not run while the app is closed.
App stores, support and this website
The store handles purchases and downloads under its own policies and may provide sales statistics or platform diagnostic reports. This is separate from the app’s local processing.
If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send through Gmail. Routine support emails are deleted 12 months after an enquiry closes, except information needed for a continuing dispute or legal obligation. Visiting this website also sends request information to its hosting provider, Cloudflare. See website and support privacy for details and provider policies.
Privacy questions and requests
Email ascaidevlabs@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request” to ask about, access, correct or request deletion of information you have sent us. Identify the relevant email conversation without attaching private app content. We may need to confirm that the request comes from the person concerned. For content stored only on your device, use the app’s controls; we cannot retrieve or delete it remotely.
